December 21, 2010

My back pain seems to have subsided. I was woken up by it this morning, it caused an uncomfortable nights sleep. However throughout the day it seemed to diminish. I can turn my neck comfortably.

I have been consulting with a lawyer and she is very alarmed with the u-turn not being noted in the accident report. I will be heading to the 88th precinct in the morning to point out this discrepancy and find out how it can be rectified.

I am slightly worried about how my face is healing. The scab comes off every day and I just don't understand how that is healthy.

I am haunted by the feeling that something is about to smash into my cheek.

I paid $10.00 today to pick up the accident report from the 88th precinct. The accident report claims that I hit the car from the rear as the driver was parking. At no point was the u-turn mentioned. The diagram of the car placed me hitting the right rear end side of the vehicle.

I went to open the window in my living room and I turned just slightly and was off balance. I felt a sharp pain in my back as i tried to regain my stance. The pain was in between my shoulder blades on the left hand side deep in the muscle.

Several times I have relived crashing into the car and it feels like my whole body just crumples up as if I was a coke can being crushed. I can feel the most crumpled part is my upper back.

I visited the plastic surgeon, Dr Olivier. She advised me to stop using the new skin bandages and prescribed Silver Sulfadiazine. I am to apply this once a day and cover with a bandage that allows breathing. when I am at home, I can remove the bandage.

Due to the accident there was a missing patch of skin about 1mm deep. There was no need for stitches as there was nothing to stitch, but I still needed advice on wound care. I wanted a doctor to look at my face as well as my general well being after the accident. I visited Dr Jeffries at 55 Greene St. Dr. Jeffries was very concerned for my face wound, she was very worried about it healing due to a patch of skin that was raised while the rest was gone. Dr Jeffries refered me to a plastic surgeon. I have a follow up visit with her in the next two weeks.
